Meet Petey! Petey is your new best friend, and quite possibly the happiest boy you will ever meet!

This handsome guy is the total package: calm, well-mannered, social, affectionate, and happiest when he is right by your side. Whether he is enjoying a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, riding shotgun for a scenic car ride, chewing on a good bone, or settling in for a cozy night on the couch, Petey is simply grateful to be included.

Like Buddy the Elf, smiling is his favorite, and Petey’s smile is absolutely guaranteed to brighten your day. When he is not flashing those perfect pearly whites, he is handing out gentle nose boops, sweet kisses, and soaking up every cuddle he can get.

Petey is a social butterfly and does wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Big dogs, little dogs— he is happy to make friends. He enjoys toys, treats, bones, and even thinks bath time is basically a spa day. He walks nicely on leash and loves getting out and about, though he does not require a packed adventure schedule to be happy. Petey is just as content relaxing at home with his people.

He is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate overnight or when unsupervised. He may need a treat or toy to convince him that crate time is his idea, but once he is in, he settles beautifully. Petey also appears to be potty trained and has been an absolute gentleman in the home.

Petey has not been around kids yet, but he has been wonderfully sweet with every person he has met. He has not been cat tested, though he does think chasing geckos is pretty entertaining.

Petey is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Petey's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
