Arya was a survivor of the City of Houston's BARC animal shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized due to being deaf. Arya loved spending time with Jyl at the nursing home where she worked, and was such a source of comfort to residents. An employee at the nursing home adopted Arya, and she still gets to visit her favorite residents from time to time.
