Stratus

6-year-old Stratus is the definition of an altruist. He was found injured, scarred, unaltered, and Heartworm positive in a park in Houston. Despite his appearance, Stratus was in the park keeping watch over a litter of puppies and was approachable by Houston Animal Control. His selflessness was overlooked and Stratus was scheduled to be euthanized at BARC. He was instead rescued by Code Red Animal Project Inc. who brought him to Fort Worth. Stratus has proven to be extremely dog friendly, cat friendly, and pig friendly. He loves spending time with puppies and is tolerant of high energy dogs. His demeanor is so pleasant and calm, and he has volunteered as a therapy dog at a nursing home, where he is a resident favorite. Stratus is absolutely gentleman that makes you rethink breed stigmas. We think Stratus would make a wonderful companion for any family, whether you have young children, an elderly parent, a farm or an apartment. He loves volunteering at a local nursing home and is very gentle with residents. Stratus has never barked, walks beautifully on a leash, accepts treats gently and would never mark inside the house. He is crate and house trained, knows basic commands, and is a gentle spirit. We think he would make an amazing Emotional Support Animal or Service Animal. Stratus is neutered and has undergone Heartworm treatment. He is up to date on his shots and is microchipped.
