Chopper/Fletcher

Chopper is a dignified gentleman and love bug. This 6-year-old boy was in the shelter as a puppy and returned, years later, as a stray, covered in hundreds of ticks. With ticks treated and vetting completed, Chopper went last call at Dallas Animal Services due to lack of space in the shelter. We saved him from euthanasia and could not be more in love! Since coming to Code Red Animal Project, Chopper has shown us what a grateful, loving man he is. He is lazy and enjoys lounging on the couch or stretching out on your bed. He likes walks, but does his business quickly and prefers not to be out in the hot Texas sun for longer than necessary. Chopper is house trained, non-destructive, and loves to eat. He knows basic commands, is kennel trained, and walks well on a leash. He gets along with other dogs, but also really wouldn't mind being an only dog. Chopper is one of the most laid back dogs we have ever met. He has excelled in both the house and apartment setting and rarely barks/whines. He would make an excellent service dog or support animal and is extremely responsive to training. As a typical pittie, Chopper is eager to please his people and has heightened emotional intelligence. He also has never shown signs of separation anxiety, even as the only animal in a home. He would be an excellent companion to a retiree, would tolerate being dressed up in princess dresses by a 3 year old, or would be an excellent road trip companion or office dog. Can you give this boy the life of luxury he so craves and deserves?

Update 11:2023: Chopper has been adopted by the most compassionate Fort Worth family. He enjoys a life of bedtime snuggles, ample treats, and all the hiking he could ever want.
