Willow

Willow is a sweet little Kelpie mix who has the most luxurious dark chocolate coat. He barely sheds despite his medium length hair. Willow loves other dogs and does well with predictable routines. He is still skittish with new people, but warms up quickly. He's never behaved ugly towards new people, but is still shy to approach humans. He does beg for attention when other dogs are being pet and spoiled and enjoys being pet. He's just awkward in the fact that he doesn't understand how to initiate contact with a human.

Willow came to Fort Worth from the far away land of San Diego, Texas, where he was one of two final dogs "housed" at San Diego Animal Control. They had received no vetting and were simply locked in short kennels: no vaccines, vet care, spaying/neutering, microchipping... Despite all of this, he's heartworm negative, now up to date on shots, and neutered. Willow rides well in the car, walks well on a leash and has never shown behaviors of resource guarding or food aggression. He is very go-with-the-flow, loves his kennel, and thrives in the company of other dogs. We know he will grow more and more comfortable with new people as he gains experiences and begins trusting others more. It is also worth mentioning that Willow is not one to bolt. At about 1 year old and 30 lbs, Willow is ready to continue. his journey to his forever home and towards becoming a social butterfly.
