Anakin

Meet Anakin, a 2-year-old, 55 lb. brindle mutt who may just be the most beautiful dog we have ever met, inside and out. With his gentle brown eyes, impossibly soft coat, and fluffy wagging tail, Anakin turns heads wherever he goes. But what truly sets him apart is his temperament. Anakin is one of the easiest, most naturally well-mannered dogs we have ever worked with. It’s clear he had a loving home at some point. He knows a multitude of commands, walks like a dream on leash, and behaves impeccably in public.

We recently took Anakin to a brewery, where he calmly settled under a high-top table without a peep. Even when a five-year-old walked by carrying a platter of chicken wings, Anakin didn’t so much as lean in for a sniff. He is that kind of dog: steady, composed, and unbelievably polite.
Anakin is friendly with everyone: dogs of all sizes, cats, kids, senior citizens, and every human in between. He is fully potty trained and house trained, loves his crate, rides beautifully in the car, and handles even reactive dogs with quiet confidence and respectful submission. Truly, there is nothing negative we can say about this exceptional boy.

Anakin has the ideal temperament to become a service dog or emotional support dog, and he would be especially wonderful in a home with special-needs children. He is intuitive, gentle, and deeply connected to his people.

We still cannot fathom how a dog like Anakin ever landed on the last-call list at Dallas Animal Services. We do know this: letting him go will be hard, and his future family will be extraordinarily lucky. Anakin deserves a forever home filled with love, stability, and appreciation for the once-in-a-lifetime dog that he is.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Anakin's adoption fee is $300, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
