Meet Bentley!

Bentley is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix who has lived through more than his fair share of misfortune—but he’s still wagging his tail and ready for a brighter future.

This sweet boy came to us after being removed from an abusive situation, only to land on the urgent list at Dallas Animal Services, facing euthanasia through no fault of his own. We couldn’t let that be his ending. Soon after, Bentley suffered a freak accident while playing with his best friend, Christopher—he bumped into a couch leg, causing his eye to pop out. The injury was beyond repair, and Bentley bravely underwent surgery to remove the eye (and was neutered at the same time).

Through all of this, Bentley’s resilient spirit has shone through.

What you should know about Bentley:
- Gentle & affectionate: Loves people, other dogs, and will happily soak up snuggles.
- Fearful of leashes: Likely due to his abusive past, but he’s content being carried for vet visits.
Ideal home: A calm household with a secure backyard where he can enjoy life leash-free. Best suited without young children, who might overwhelm him.
- Smart & adaptable: Crate trained, house trained, and loves his treats.
Healthy & ready: Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Bentley may only have one eye, but he has a heart full of love and resilience. He’s searching for a family who will cherish him for the survivor he is and give him the safe, happy life he’s always deserved.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Bentley's adoption fee is $450, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
