Meet Comet, a 2.5-year-old golden boy with the sweetest face and the cutest little cropped tail that never stops wagging.

Comet is a handsome mixed-breed pup who simply got the short end of the stick after his human mom passed away unexpectedly while on vacation. In an instant, Comet and his four canine siblings lost the only home they had ever known. Their devoted sitters worked tirelessly to advocate for them and get them into rescues. We welcomed Comet and his sister, Star (the two that no one else stepped forward for) and we’re honestly baffled as to why.

Comet is pure joy wrapped up in a 50-pound bundle of sunshine. He loves people, adores other dogs, and greets the world with constant smiles and cheerful little tail wags. His happy spirit is contagious, and he’s the kind of dog who instantly brightens a room just by being in it.

He’s also wonderfully well-mannered. Comet walks nicely on a leash, enjoys car rides, is fully crate trained and potty trained, and has excellent house manners. He’s never met a dog he doesn’t like and would happily share his home with a canine sibling, though it’s not required for his adoption.

Comet is fully vetted: heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He’s a fantastic candidate for many types of homes and does beautifully with both kids and adults.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Star's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
