Meet Cricket 🦗 — a funny, hip-hoppy little man with giant ears, a huge heart, and the kind of personality that leaves a permanent mark on everyone who meets him.
Cricket was born with one femur drastically shorter than the other, which gives him a unique little gait and an unforgettable bounce when he runs. But don’t let that fool you for a second—this boy is just as playful, quick, and adventurous as his friends. He doesn’t see himself as different, and neither do we.
What truly makes Cricket extraordinary is his emotional intelligence. He has an incredible awareness of the people around him and seems to instinctively know when someone needs extra comfort, extra laughter, or just a quiet companion nearby. He’s goofy, a little mischievous, and endlessly charming. Yes, we did lose one phone charger to his curiosity, but his sweetness outweighs any little canine crime by a landslide.
Cricket adores people, including children, and has the gentlest, most thoughtful soul. One moment in particular perfectly sums up who he is. During a meet-and-greet with a family who had a toddler, the little boy was running around the yard hoping the dogs would chase him while his parents decided which pup might be the right fit. The toddler tripped and face-planted in the grass. As he stood up and looked around, trying to decide whether he should cry or if he was okay, Cricket casually walked over and gave him the softest, most reassuring lick on the cheek as if to say, “You’re okay, little dude.” And then they went right back to playing. Honestly, how anyone could pass up this love bug after that moment is beyond us. Their loss is absolutely your gain.
Cricket is crate trained, very quiet, and wonderfully respectful with other dogs. He also has excellent feline manners. Cricket firmly believes cats are superior beings who should be admired from a respectful distance unless they choose to initiate contact. It’s honestly the perfect attitude for cats who dislike pushy dogs and need time to warm up to a canine sibling. Cricket fully accepts his role beneath his feline overlords.
Cricket is fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He’s ready to find a forever family who will appreciate just how special, funny, intuitive, and deeply loving he truly is.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Cricket's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
