Meet Dolly! Sometimes there isn't a complicated story to tell. Sometimes a puppy is just really, really good. And that's Dolly.

Dolly is a 15-week-old Schnauzer mix with nothing but love, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of zest to give to the world. She's happy, social, affectionate, and at that wonderfully moldable age where she's just waiting for someone to show her what being a family dog is all about.

Dolly LOVES people. She loves kids. She loves other dogs. Basically, Dolly hasn't met many creatures she doesn't think have excellent friend potential.

We believe she could easily learn to live with cats, too. She hasn't shown an innate prey drive, and at only 15 weeks old, she's at a fantastic age to learn that kitties are friends—not something to chase.

And then there's food. Dolly has some feelings about food. She's a growing puppy who takes mealtime very seriously and is currently learning that she doesn't have to worry about anyone taking her dinner away. She's shown some possessiveness around food, so we're working with her on appropriate mealtime manners now. At this age, she's incredibly moldable, and with continued positive training and consistency, we expect her to keep making great progress.

Because that's the thing about Dolly: she's a baby.

She isn't supposed to have everything figured out yet.

She's at the perfect age to learn your routine, your expectations, your adventures, and all the little rules that turn a puppy into an incredible adult dog. She has the social nature, affection, curiosity, and enthusiasm already built in. Now she just needs her person to help shape the rest.

Dolly is:
* 15 weeks old and believed to be a Schnauzer mix.
* Wonderful with dogs, kids, and every person she meets
* Likely able to learn to live happily with cats
* Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative
* An extremely sweet, social, happy little puppy with her whole life ahead of her

Dolly doesn't need a perfect home. She needs a family ready for all the things that come with raising a puppy—the training, the learning, the silliness, the occasional mischief, and the privilege of watching this tiny personality turn into the dog she's going to become.

And we have a feeling she's going to become one heck of a dog.

She's sweet. She's zesty. She's ridiculously lovable. She's ready to learn.

Honestly, Dolly is just a really, really good puppy.

Now she needs a family to grow up with.

Apply to adopt Dolly at CRAPrescue.org/application.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Dolly's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
