Gretel

Meet Gretel! Every once in a while, a puppy comes along who is almost unfairly beautiful.

Gretel is a 3-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer with rich chocolate fur, the softest velvety ears, and a pair of gorgeous eyes that make it very difficult to tell her no.

Which is unfortunate, because Gretel is also a puppy with ideas.

This little girl is the perfect combination of cuddly and mischievous. She loves her people, happily soaks up affection, and is incredibly sweet, but she's also got just enough puppy mischief to keep things entertaining. Give her a cardboard box and she will happily handle the recycling for you. Her preferred method may involve shredding it into approximately 700 pieces, but details.

Thankfully, Gretel understands that not everything is for destroying. She's wonderful with her bedding and is already excellent in her crate, especially impressive for such a young puppy. She also loves the car and is happy to tag along for an adventure.

Her leash skills are still developing, as you'd expect at just 3 months old, but Gretel is a smart little cookie. She's food motivated, engaged, and eager to learn, which gives her all the ingredients to become an exceptionally fun dog to train.

Gretel loves other dogs and absolutely adores people. She has that wonderful GSP combination of affection, curiosity, intelligence, and zest for life. She'll happily play with her toys, investigate whatever you're doing, and then come snuggle up when it's time to recharge for her next round of puppy shenanigans.

Gretel has received her first round of vaccinations and is microchipped. She will receive all of her age-appropriate core vaccines and will be spayed prior to finalizing her adoption.

As adorable as she is now, Gretel is still a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy. She'll thrive with a family excited to continue her training, give that smart little brain things to do, and provide plenty of opportunities for play, exercise, adventure, and, of course, snuggles.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Gretel's adoption fee is $350, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
