Meet Johnny!

Johnny is a 2-year-old, 32-pound pocket pittie with a tiny body, a big personality, and an even bigger heart.

Johnny is the kind of dog who may take a little time to let you fully into his world, but once you are in, you are in. He adores his inner circle more than life itself and loves his people with his whole little body. He is loyal, devoted, silly, and guaranteed to make you feel like the most important person in the room every single time you walk through the door.

Johnny has two great loves in life: people and food. He is a very enthusiastic helper and will gladly follow you from room to room to assist with any chore you may have. His favorite place to supervise, of course, is the kitchen, where he remains ever hopeful that you might share a morsel of whatever you are preparing. Johnny has an impressively expansive palate and even loves fruits and veggies. Truly, he is a tiny foodie with excellent taste.

Sweet Johnny has been in his foster home for almost a year, and his growth has been incredible. When he first left the crowded city shelter, he was overwhelmed and came with poor impulse control and some mouthy behaviors. But with patience, consistency, and a foster who believed in him, Johnny has blossomed into the distinguished little gentleman he is today.

Johnny is crate trained, good on a leash, and enjoys riding in the car. He is more of a homebody than a brunch patio regular, and that is perfectly okay with us. He does not prefer crowds or chaotic environments, but he would be more than happy to enjoy the treasures you bring home from your weekly farmers market trip.
Johnny is also good with other dogs, especially with slower, thoughtful introductions. Like many wonderful dogs, he does best when given the time and space to feel safe and build trust. Once he knows you are his person, his love is endless.

Johnny is fully vetted, meaning he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is currently on Prozac, which is very inexpensive and has been helpful for him during transitions. He also takes Apoquel to help manage those harsh Texas allergens.

Johnny is not the dog for someone looking for instant perfection. He is the dog for someone looking for a real bond. The kind that is earned, cherished, and deeply rewarding.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Johnny's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
