Milkshake

Meet Milkshake! Milkshake is a 3-year-old, 75-pound Shar Pei mix with perfect tomboy energy and a whole lot of love to give.

She's goofy. She's playful. She's always ready to make a new friend. She'll throw down the world's most enthusiastic play bow, romp around with her buddies, chew on a good toy, and then happily climb onto the couch for cuddles like the 70-pound lap dog she firmly believes herself to be.

But before Milkshake got the chance to just be somebody's dog, she had another job to do.

Milkshake ended up at the shelter as a momma dog. She raised her babies, watched them get adopted one by one, and then—as happens to far too many wonderful momma dogs—**she was the one left behind.**

So we think it's Milkshake's turn to be the baby now.

And whoever gets to spoil her is getting one heck of a dog.

Milkshake is beautifully affectionate and unbelievably soft. She loves being close to her people and has that wonderful combination of being up for an adventure while also appreciating the finer things in life—namely soft dog beds, chew toys, and a comfortable couch with enough room for her to snuggle her humans.

She's also incredibly social. Milkshake is very dog friendly and has proven herself to be remarkably accepting of just about everybody. Dogs? Absolutely. Cats? Sure. Pigs? No problem. Turtles? Fine by her. Even parrots haven't caused an issue.

Basically, Milkshake's philosophy seems to be that if you're nice to her, you're probably worth befriending.

Her manners are equally impressive. Milkshake is perfect in her crate, wonderful on leash, and has **excellent recall off leash.** She's also an angel in the car, making her an easy companion whether you're heading out for an adventure or just running errands together.

And then there's the play bow.

Milkshake is a **professional play bower.** She loves to be silly, invite her friends to play, and generally remind everyone around her that life doesn't need to be taken quite so seriously. She's got that fantastic tomboy personality. She's happy to romp around and get goofy with the gang, but still incredibly soft and affectionate when playtime is over.

As a Shar Pei mix, Milkshake also came with a little extra facial real estate. She has already undergone entropion surgery to remove the excess skin around her eyes that was causing her eyelids to roll inward—a very common issue in Shar Peis. That's behind her now, and she's ready to focus on much more important things.

Like being spoiled.

Milkshake already did the mom thing. She raised her babies and watched them find families of their own. Now we'd really love to see someone choose **her**.

At 70 pounds, she's just the right size for big couch cuddles, even bigger hugs, and taking up significantly more of your bed than you initially agreed to.

She's soft. She's silly. She's affectionate. She's social. She's beautifully uncomplicated and just an all-around wonderful dog.

**Milkshake spent long enough taking care of everybody else. It's finally her turn to be somebody's baby.**

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Milkshake's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
