Meet Omar – The Couch King with a Toothy Grin

At 5 years old, Omar is the perfect blend of mellow charm and low-key playfulness. This Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix is a distinguished gentleman who’s equally happy going for a car ride or stretching out in full royalty mode on his dog bed. Food is his love language, and he greets every meal — and every day — with his signature wide, toothy smile.

Omar’s past hasn’t been the easiest. He was found as a stray with a gunshot wound to his back leg, and despite making a full recovery, he ended up on the euthanasia list at Dallas Animal Services — misjudged, mislabeled, and nearly out of time. But Omar never lost his love for people, and his gentle, grateful spirit shines brighter than ever.

Now safe in foster care, he’s proven himself to be the ultimate “good boy.” Omar is crate trained, potty trained, and walks beautifully on leash. He gets along well with calmer dogs but would also thrive as the solo star of your home. He knows he’s been given a second chance and he wears his gratitude like a badge of honor.

Omar is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and treated for heartworms. He’s expected to test negative at his next check-up in six months — just one more sign of how far he’s come.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Omar's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period.
