Meet Skipper!

Skipper is a stunning 42-pound brindle pittie girl with a heart as big as her personality. She is the perfect mix of silly, sweet, resilient, and loyal... the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying.

Skipper came to us after she was accidentally struck by a kind Good Samaritan’s vehicle. Instead of driving away, that person stopped, searched tirelessly for her owner, and ultimately made sure Skipper received the surgery she needed to repair her injured foot. Thanks to that compassion, Skipper got a second chance. She is now fully healed, good as new, and ready for the forever family she has always deserved.

And what a gem she is.

Skipper absolutely loves her people. She adores pets, cuddles, car rides, and being close to the humans she trusts. She is affectionate without being needy, playful without being chaotic, and full of the kind of joyful energy that makes a house feel warmer. After her short bout of zoomies, Skipper loves lounging on the floor or a dog bed near her humans.

She also loves chews, enjoys working for treats, and has so much fun playing with her dog friends. Treats are very exciting in Skipper’s world, and sometimes her enthusiasm shows, but she responds beautifully to gentle reminders and truly wants to be a good girl.

Skipper is crate trained, impressively quiet, and walks nicely on a leash. She is a good listener with a bright, engaging personality and an easy sweetness that makes her hard not to love. She loves people of all ages and does not struggle with separation anxiety. She is good on a leash and has great recall off leash. We think she'd make a phenomenal camping companion!

Skipper would be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as an only dog, but she also enjoys canine companionship and would be thrilled to have a friendly dog sibling or two. What matters most to her is having a family who sees just how special she is.

Skipper is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully healed from her foot injury. She is goofy, loving, resilient, and so ready to find her place.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Skipper's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
